SENSO
SENSO converts spatial perception into perceptible vibrations. Six vibration plates are sewn into the belt, each with two motors, while two ultrasonic sensors measure the distance between the wearer and an obstacle — all connected to an Arduino in the box on the back. Made of robust black jeans fabric with a flexible panel and a velcro fastener, the belt fits many different body sizes.
SENSO creates the possibility of expanding visual perception — or replacing it with haptic perception. This fundamental idea could be especially interesting for people with limited vision or who are blind.
