The basic concept of my sketchbooks is based on ‘just getting started’. Not having to struggle to plan down to the smallest detail what you want to draw, not knowing what you want to create. I find this process exciting. While I'm drawing, I always have to reorientate myself as to how I want to proceed, as the overall work changes slightly after every black line on the paper.

The sketchbook is in A5 format. I use black ink liners and felt-tip pens. Occasionally I also use accents like gold, so it stays compact and I can take it with me wherever I go.
